Supporting WIN and The Alley

There are many ways to support your favorite charity. WIN accepts direct donations on their website via paypal.

You can also donate items to the thrift store, where all proceeds benefit WIN's programs.

Amazon has a new program called AmazonSmile where many purchases qualify for 0.5% donation to your selected charity - and you can select WIN. Just search for Women in Need, Chestertown, MD and BAM your online shopping will support WIN. You can change your charity at any time too :)  What I love about AmazonSmile is that it prompts me to "go to this page at smile.amazon.com". I like this because I sometimes forget, and I just love that they make it so easy to donate.

WIN is working on some new ways to donate, and we'll keep you posted. But if you're local, please come see us at the store. We're open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and have new items daily. We love seeing you!

Visit us on Facebook too!

Lesson plan for Today: Teach me how to Dougie

The kids took a short break before cracking down on their homework to teach the staff how to "Dougie". The question has been spreading through the Alley for the past month... "What is a dougie?" The kids found the question laughable, however, they were more then willing to demostrate. Ms. Cassi was taught during the over night lock in before the half marathon fundraiser a couple weeks back, however, was not confident enough in her "Dougieing" abilities to show the rest of the staff. But thankfully today the question for Ms. Amy and Mrs. Karen was answered, by two of our "Dougieing" boys. So for anyone else out there who has been asking "Teach Me How to Dougie!" we here at the Alley will be more than willing to give lessons!
